The mission of Green Village Children’s Academy is to enable children to be creative, confident, enthusiastic, individual thinkers and learners.
Green Village Children’s Academy offers preschool programs that range from the moment your little one is born until five years of age. We provide the best educational means available to afford your child all that they could possibly need in preparation for kindergarten. Our facility is particularly proud to boast of our in-house chef, who provides healthy and nutritious meals, drawing from a rich garden and wholly organic suppliers. The school offers a wide variety of educational resources such as, language & literacy, mathematical, social and physical development, Spanish, yoga and creative expression and hands-on scientific learning. A large garden located on the premises offers the children a unique experience to learn and explore nature in a real and authentic way.
The programs at Green Village Children’s Academy have been carefully and thoughtfully designed to provide your child with a rich and diverse educational experience. The school has only the best, most passionate and degree qualified teachers who have the expertise and talent to equip your child with the resources to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and lingual skills. These skills are taught by engaging the children through play and personal attention that we believe encourage them to develop individual interests and passions.
Philosophy and Keys to Success
It is our belief at GVCA that it is the job of a great pre-school to expand the world of your child from the small confines of home life into the big world of the school community. In other words, it is a pre-school’s job to prepare them for big challenges ahead: kindergarten and beyond. We do this by supporting independence, and cultivating an environment where children are encouraged to become more aware of social behaviors, both their own and those of their classmates, teachers and community.
GVCA uses a combination of two highly reputable research based curriculums called Creative Curriculum and Montessori. Montessori is a brilliant curriculum which utilizes the importance of a trusting and nurturing relationship between child and caregiver. It is a curriculum which embraces the uniqueness that each child brings. We also take advantage of the best that Creative Curriculum has to offer. We believe that children learn best by play and exploration, discovering the world around them in an enthusiastic and real way, with caregivers always nearby.
At GVCA we try to limit the amount of time your child spends with technology. We know that it is an increasingly technological world out there, and that being said, we believe that children are exposed to enough technology in the home and elsewhere, and we want GVCA to be space where they can explore other avenues of learning. By limiting their “screen time” we are able to give the kids more social interaction and outdoor playtime. The garden specifically is an excellent substitute for the screen, offering a wide variety of plant life and more to keep their minds curious and their bodies active.
We believe in the philosophy of “it takes a village to raise a child” and know that you, as the parents, are your child’s biggest teachers, so we would never want to exclude you from anything that happens at GVCA. Parents are welcome, and even encouraged, to participate in class events, such as birthdays and holidays, parent and child experiential evenings, and any fundraising events. We work with our parents through an online education communication system which allows us to provide you with daily -even hourly- updates about your child’s day. Of course, you are always welcome in your child’s classroom at any time.
